The power of the words we say should never be underestimated. The believer is supposed to say only words that build up, not words that tear down. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue,…” Prov 18:21 This is serious. The Bible says gossip is slander, a sin of the same category as murder! (Matthew 15:19) Whoa. Now I am totally scared of the holiness of God in the light of my speech and thoughts.
Isaiah 6:5 Then I said,
“Woe is me, for I am ruined!
Because I am a man of unclean lips,
And I live among a people of unclean lips;
For my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.”
