Hope in Uncertain Times

Fear and anxiety are two very common maladies nowadays. The uncertainty of our times makes it even worse. Fear and anxiety are also sisters with depression. That is why I keep reading and meditating on my Bible, the word of God. “Do not fear” occurs 95 times in the Bible. It is God Himself telling me not to fear, even in times we are in right now. God promises me that He will never leave nor forsake me (Deuteronomy 31:6, Joshua 1:5, Hebrews 13:5), He is my strength (Psalm 18:1), my ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1), and I can do all things (even the impossible) through His Son Jesus Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13). He is my salvation (Exodus 15:2, Psalm 27:1,38:22,62:6), my Deliverer (2 Samuel 22:2) and my Healer (Exodus 15:26). Reading the Bible and believing it and the Author of it is the potent antidote to fear, anxiety and depression. It brings hope and assurance.
