If God is on the side of the believer, who can fight against him? The Devil? The Devil is no match to God. The passage says that God did not even spare His own Son just so the believer can be united with Him. He will never condemn the believer and in fact NOTHING can separate the believer from the love of God. (Romans 8:32-39) So, what can cause a believer to fall? What is not mentioned in the passage is that the believer falls only when he sides with the Devil unknowingly. This is tricky because the Devil is cunning and works in the shadows. The believer must be wise never to side with the Enemy and most of the time he is snared by the things he says. Our words have power. Man is created in God’s image. God created the world by the power of His word. In the same way, the words we speak can create an atmosphere around us and can set things in motion, especially for the believer who has received the authority of Christ. His doubts and fears, when verbally expressed, are what gives the Enemy the foothold when he’s in a spiritual battle. Doubt and fear work against faith and faith is the victory that overcomes the world. (1 John 5:4)
Psalm 19:14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.
