I have to be careful with my thoughts about myself, other people, my outlook in life, the things I focus my attention on, and the things I say. The words I say have power. I have to make sure these please God. If they are not acceptable to God it means I am sinning against people if they are thoughts and words about them, or sinning against myself (e.g. condemning or hating myself), or sinning against God if I am believing a lie about Him. If I am believing a lie about God I am in danger of actually worshiping a false god, an idol I make in my own imaginations. If I am guilty of any of these things it means I have to repent.
