Peace with God

“Justified.” That’s one of the big words in the Bible that I had to understand before I could understand more of the Bible. “Justified” in the Bible means “to be declared innocent as if you never did the sin/crime.” Whoa! “Justified by faith (in Jesus Christ)” – I am now declared innocent of all my wrongdoing because of my faith in Jesus Christ alone. Woot-woot! (Now you know why Christian worship is so noisy. Who can contain such joy over revelations like that?) Peace with God? Why do I need peace with God? Thank God, I believe that apple-and-serpent story in the Garden of Eden. Yes, that “original sin” by Adam and Eve brought enmity between me and God, although I am thousands of generations after them. Their first sin brought the sinful nature upon man. Why do we have wars, calamities, disease, witchcraft, addictions, broken marriages and child abuse? Sin brings a curse (while obedience brings a blessing) and the curse is carried down the generations. Sin and enmity with God. They are real. But thank God, Jesus answered for my sin and I have peace with God through Jesus!
